EMAS Stands Down Emergency Care Alert

East Midlands Ambulance Service has stood down an alert issued earlier this week because of increasing demand for emergency care.

The business continuity incident was declared on Tuesday following “sustained pressure” on services across the region and allowed extra steps to ensure ambulance crews were available to respond to life-threatening emergencies.

The trust says pressures on the service are continuing despite the alert now being lifted.
