Witness Appeal After Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on B6047

A motorcyclist has died following a crash on the B6047 near Church Langton on Thursday night.

Emergency services were called to Melton Road just after 8.20pm, following a collision involving a grey Honda CBR motorbike and a blue Ford Ranger pick-up truck.

The rider, a man in his 50s, suffered fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ranger sustained minor injuries.

Police say the motorbike had been travelling southbound towards Church Langton while the Ford Ranger was exiting a farm entrance intending to travel northbound towards Tur Langton.

Officers from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating and appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

The road remained closed for several hours while emergency services worked at the scene and collision investigation work was carried out.
