Drink/Drug Drive Arrests Top 70

70 drivers have now been arrested during Leicestershire Police’s drink and drug drive clampdown – five in the Harborough District.

Officers say 63 people failed roadside breath tests and seven tested positive for cannabis or cocaine.

Eighteen arrests have been made at the scene of crashes and 14 of the drivers arrested were aged under 24.

The summer campaign continues for the remainder of the month.
