Desborough Town Win Promotion After Play-off Final Thriller

Desborough Town are celebrating promotion after a dramatic 4–3 extra-time win over Eaton Socon in today’s South Midlands Division One play-off final.
They raced into a 2–0 lead at the VPK Stadium, but the visitors fought back to level the game at 2–2 in normal time, forcing extra time.

Desborough then struck twice to go 4–2 ahead, before Eaton Socon pulled one back to set up a tense finale at 4–3.
The victory caps an impressive campaign for Neil Healey’s side, who went 19 league games unbeaten and scored more than 100 goals.
Desborough will now compete in the Premier Division next season at step five of the non-league pyramid.
