Defibrillator Planned For Railway Station

A publically-accessible defibrillator could soon be available outside Market Harborough Railway Station.
East Midlands Railway has submitted plans for the life-saving device, but must first gain planning permission as the station is a listed building.
If approved, the defibrillator would be installed in a cabinet close to the main entrance.

A document provided by EMR with the application reads: “The proposal provides a significant community benefit by improving public health and safety provision at a key transport hub.
“The install location respects the station’s architectural and historic importance, while addressing a very practical need for easily accessible emergency provision in a busy public setting.”
Harborough District Council will consider the plan.
