Deal With ‘Drugs Flats’, Say Edwin Court Residents

Written by on 27th September 2018

Residents at the Edwin Court flats in Market Harborough say a Housing Association should be doing more to deal with so called ‘drugs flats’.

Those living at the block on Kettering Road have told HFM they are fed up of it being labelled as a drugs den, saying the vast majority of residents are pleasant law-abiding and hard-working people.

A number own their own flats, others are tenants of housing associations.

Police raided a flat there last week and seized a quantity of cannabis plants – there have been other drugs warrants executed in the past few months.

The property in question last week is managed by Waterloo Housing Group.

Marion Duffy, Neighbourhood and Operations Director, said “Waterloo have been working very closely and proactively with the Local Police regarding various issues in this locality, and will continue to do so in the future”.
