‘Cultural Quarter’ Improvements Completed

Visitors to Market Harborough are being encouraged to head to the Cultural Quarter after improvement works were completed.

The £16,000 project is aimed at raising the identity and visibility of the area in the town centre and bring together an iconic cluster of heritage buildings, including The Old Grammar School, St Dionysius Church, Harborough Theatre and the Symington Building, which is home to Harborough Library & Museum.

Works have included installing new signage and street furniture, along with a new wooden planter on Church Square.

Next, a programme of cultural activities and entertainment against the backdrop of the new quarter is being planned – to bring the town’s historic architecture to life.

Harborough District Council received funding for the project from the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
