Couple Died From Gunshot Injuries

A couple found dead at a house in Saddington died from gunshot injuries.

They have been named today as 59-year-old Richard Harrison and his wife Rachel Harrison, who was 54.

Leicestershire Police were called the property on Smeeton Road on Friday morning by East Midlands Ambulance Service and a post-mortem examination has now been carried out, which concluded both died from gunshot injuries.

Detectives say an investigation is on-going, although they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths and a file will now be prepared for H.M. Coroner.

Detective Inspector David Greenhalgh, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit major crime team, said: “This is a deeply tragic incident and officers are continuing to support the family during this extremely difficult time.

“We will continue to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident, but I can confirm we do not believe anyone else was involved in the incident and a file will be prepared for H.M. Coroner.”
