Council Tax Refund Scam Warning Issued To Residents

Residents are being warned about scam emails claiming they are owed a Council Tax refund.
Harborough District Council says the emails ask recipients to enter their bank card details to claim the money.

The council has stressed that it will never ask for bank card details by email.
Residents are being urged not to click on links in the messages or share any personal or financial information, as scammers may use the details to commit fraud.
