Council Tax Freeze
Written by HFM News on 26th February 2019
They’ll be no increase in the main amount residents pay Harborough Council in Council Tax from April, after councillors approved the budget for the next year last night.
The charge for the average band D home will remain at £168, although villagers in Broughton Astley, Fleckney, Scraptoft and Great Glen will be paying slightly more because of a new ‘Special Expenses’ charge, to pay for the upkeep of play areas and in Great Bowden towards the maintenance of the cemetery and allotments.
The overall bills for residents across the District will be going up, as Leicestershire County Council and both the Police and Fire Service are increasing their charges.
