Construction Of New Kibworth Skatepark Complete

Construction of a new skatepark in Kibworth Beauchamp has been completed.

The state-of-the-art facility has gone up in Warwick Park after the parish council secured funding of over £260,000 to pay for it.

The project was the culmination of years of campaigning after the village lost its previous skate park.

While some finishing touches are still to be made to the area around the facility, youngsters have begun using it ahead of an offical opening in the new year.

Young people were involved in helping to design the facility, which has been constructed near the children’s play area in the park.

Funding was provided under the ‘Section 106’ scheme, where housing developers contribute towards community facilities, and specialist firm Canvas Spaces were chosen to design and construct it.
