Concrete Slab Hurled At Shop

Written by on 13th January 2025

Someone hurled a concrete slab at a mobile phone shop in Market Harborough early this morning.

It is thought the person was attempting to break into iCrack in St Mary’s Place just before 3am, but was scared off when the shop’s burglar alarm went off.

The moment the slab was thrown at the front door was captured on CCTV inside the shop.

The slab caused major damage to the reinforced glass in the shop door, but it did not completely shatter.

It was left at the scene when the person fled.

Damage to the shop door and concrete slab used in the incident

Leicestershire Police are investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to call 101.

There was a spate of burglaries at shops and businesses in Market Harborough last year when concrete slabs were used to gain entry.
