Concern At Flytipping Beside A6 Bypass

There is concern at increased fly-tipping beside the A6 Great Glen bypass.
Building materials and mattresses are among items most recently dumped in laybys on the stretch of road.
Harborough District Council has to clear up the mess and is considering installing mobile CCTV in a bid to catch those responsible.
Cllr Phil King says people are dumping things illegally on a regular basis and has raised the issue with the authority:

Cllr Darren Woodiwiss, Harborough District Council’s Cabinet lead for Environmental and Climate Change, said: “Fly-tipping has unfortunately been a problem in this location recently.
“We are monitoring the laybys, checking rubbish for any evidence, and considering the use of mobile CCTV to act as a further deterrent.
“Fly-tipping is a criminal offence and those responsible will be prosecuted.”
