Community Scheme To Launch To House Syrian Family In Harborough District

One of the first community-based schemes in the country to re-settle a refugee family will see them move to the Harborough District.
South Leicestershire Community Sponsorship will launch in Market Harborough this evening.
It needs to raise nine thousand pounds ahead of the arrival of the family from a refugee camp in the Syrian Region, which it’s hoped will be next year.
A local couple have already offered the use of a house for them.
The group’s been set-up on the back of the successful Harborough Helping Refugees organisation.
