Community and charity groups across Harborough are set to be offered the chance to apply for £70,000 to create lasting commemorations of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The money will be for improvements to buildings and open spaces, or to create art and sculptures, to mark Her Majesty’s 70-year reign.
If approved at a meeting next week, applications for the District Council’s £700,000 Platinum Jubilee Capital Grant Scheme scheme will open next month, with decisions set to be made in October on which have been successful.
The Council’s Cabinet will also be asked to approve the criteria for projects to be considered.
