Co-Op Reveals New Store Plan

A new Co-Op store could be built in Rothwell.

It is being earmarked for land at the junction of Desborough Road and Fallow Road, next to the Medical Centre.

The shop would create 15 jobs and be in addition to the retailer’s existing store in the town, if planning permission is granted.

A spokesperson for Central Co-Op said: “We’re pleased to confirm that we’ve submitted a reserved matters planning application for a new Central Co-op store on Fallow Road in Rothwell.

“This forms part of the wider Woodland Valley housing development by Persimmon.

“If granted, the new store would be in addition to our existing Central Co-op shop in the town, which will continue to serve the community.

“We’re committed to growing our presence in Rothwell and providing greater convenience and choice for local residents.”
