Charity’s Equipment Destroyed By Thieves Who Started Fire At Foxton Locks

A charity’s equipment has been destroyed after thieves broke in and set fire to their storage container in the car park of Foxton Locks early yesterday, causing damage totaling thousands of pounds.

It’s thought they used an angle grinder to get into the steel container belonging to the Foxton Locks Inclined Plane Trust, before setting it alight.

Equipment inside used for fundraising events like the recently held Foxton Locks Festival – including plus tables and chairs were completely gutted – as were toys that had been donated for an upcoming sale.

Fire crews were called at 4.15am – Police are appealing for information.
