Cash Stolen During Burglary At Subway

A burglar stole cash after smashing his way into Subway in Market Harborough during the early hours of today.

The intruder used a concrete block to break glass in the front door of the eatery on the High Street at around 12.45am.

The man, who had his face covered, stole money from a till and attempted to force open a safe, before fleeing the premises.

Police attended the shop and it remained closed while forensic officers conducted an investigation.

The break-in follows an attempted burglary at Co-Op on Coventry Road in the early hours of Tuesday.

Leicestershire Police say enquiries into the incident are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact officers, quoting incident 81 of 6 June.
