Cash Boost To Local Projects

It’s been agreed that almost £150,000 of property developers’ cash willbe handed out to two more Harborough community projects.Harborough District Council has approved this latest funding fromSection 106 contributions at its meeting this week.This is money provided by developers for community projects and socialinfrastructure in locations where development has been allowed to takeplace.The bulk of it – £135,091 – has been awarded to St Luke’s Church PCC inThurnby – to bring back into use a redundant Pavilion on Manor Field asa new Community Centre and Café.£13,912.47 is going to Lutterworth Cricket Club – for the development ofa new cricket ground at Lutterworth College – to enable more junior andwomen’s cricket.People are invited to submit further grant applications to HDC byOctober 28th, in time for the next round of funding allocations inDecember, by emailing grants@harborough.gov.uk.
