Work has started to dredge a section of the canal in Market Harborough to improve conditions for boaters along the route.
The Canal and River Trust will use specialist equipment over the next month, working from Union Wharf towards Great Bowden, with a site compound set up next to the canal off the B6047.

A site compound has been created adjacent to the canal off the B6047
Around 1,600 cubic metres of sediment built up on the canal bed will be removed and taken away to be recycled into fertiliser, helping to keep the waterway navigable for boats.
The Trust says the work is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the canal network for the local community and visitors.
