Can You Help Grant Wish For Harborough School ?

Pupils at a Market Harborough school are hoping someone will grant them a festive wish so they can eat Christmas dinner together.

Youngsters at St Joseph’s Catholic Voluntary Academy have been forced to have lunch in classrooms for the past three months, after concrete prone to collapse was discovered in the school’s hall and kitchen.

Boxed meals are being brought into the school for children at lunchtime and the areas will remain closed off until next year, while repairs are planned and carried out to remove the RAAC.

Pupils, teachers and Harborough’s MP are appealing to anyone who might be able to provide a venue – ideally somewhere in the town – and catering for the Christmas lunch, so the school can all join together again for the special occasion.

Headteacher, Bernadette Dabbs said: “The children have been coping so well with not being able to use the hall and have been eating at their desks in their classrooms for the past few months. However, we would love to be able for them to be able to enjoy a Christmas lunch together.

“It would be wonderful if someone could come forward to offer them some Christmas magic this year.”
