Call For Local Plan Process To Be ‘Paused’

There are calls for Harborough District Council to pause the creation of a new Local Plan.
Work is already underway to map out where housing and other developments will go over the next 20 years.
But opposition Conservative councillors say changes to national housing targets and other parts of the planning system – to be implemented by the new government – will impact on it.

A motion requesting work on the plan is halted until full details of the changes are known will be considered at a meeting of the full council tonight.
