Bus Services Through Harborough Estate Suspended

A bus operator has suspended services through a Market Harborough estate until further notice.

Arriva says its drivers have been experiencing ‘significant difficulties’ accessing the Wellington Place estate safely, due to on-going house building works.

Arriva has suspended services through the estate

The company’s X3 service began serving the estate on the Airfield Farm development in January, on journeys into the town centre and towards Leicester.

An Arriva spokesperson said: “Due to ongoing works & heavy vehicles at Airfield Farm, Market Harborough, service X3 is experiencing significant difficulties accessing the route safely.

“We’ll be unable to serve stops within Airfield Farm and will stay on the main B6047 in both directions until further notice.”

Buses had been accessing and exiting the estate via Peter Callis Way and the decision is a blow to residents who will now have to walk to use stops on Leicester Road, as no other buses serve the estate.
