Bus Route Changed Due To Parked Cars Blocking Access

The route of Market Harborough’s town bus service has been changed because parked cars are blocking access.

The issue has worsened recently, with more people staying a home because of the pandemic.

Service 33 will no longer serve Northleigh Grove, Logan Street, Highcross Street and will not call at the stop on Wartnaby Street, adjacent to Morley Street.

The service, operated by Centrebus on behalf of Leicestershire County Council, is also now travelling in the opposite direction along Coventry Road, so not stopping outside St Joseph’s School and passengers boarding the bus near Logan Street should now use the stop on the Welland Park side of the road.

A notice put up on bus stops reads: “The route change is necessary as congestion, caused by an increase in parked cars, has meant that some streets have become inaccessible to buses.”
