Burglars Target St Dionysius Church

Burglars tried to steal money from St Dionysius Church in Market Harborough early this morning.

They attempted to smash open the collections safe, but were unsuccessful and fled empty handed.

Leicestershire Police were alerted at 2.45am after the intruders forced open a door to get into the historic town centre building and officers were quickly on the scene.

A forensic investigation has since been carried out at the church and police say enquiries into the incident are on-going.
