A Market Harborough youth centre has been left with a repair bill of thousands of pounds after a burglar tried to force his way in.
He damaged doors beyond repair at The Cube on the Symington’s Recreation Ground at 4.15am yesterday, but didn’t get in and fled when the burglar alarm sounded.
The Cube says it will now have to spend money, meant for improving facilities for young people, on replacing the doors, the cost estimated at over £2,000.
Chair of Trustees, Dawn O’Connell, told Hfm, its a huge blow for them:
The burglar was caught on CCTV and It’s not yet known if Police are linking it to the spate of other burglaries, which officers say have been committed by the same man.
Anyone with information about the attempted burglary is urged to call Police on 101., quoting incident 183 of 18/6.
