Arrests After Man Seriously Injured In Crash

Two men were arrested after another man suffered serious injuries in a crash on the A5199 near Husbands Bosworth yesterday.

A grey Mitsubishi Lancer car left the road and collided with a tree just after 5.15pm.

Leicestershire Police say one of the three occupants suffered injuries that are believed to be ‘life-changing’ and they continue to receive treatment in hospital.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and possession of cannabis with intent to supply and a 34-year-old man was arrested in suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

They have both been released under investigation.

Police say the car was travelling towards Welford when the crash happened and are appealing for witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Mike Steer, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicle beforehand or the collision itself to please get in touch.

“Alternatively, if you have a dashcam please check your device as it may have captured something related to this incident.”

The road was closed for several hours following the crash.
