Appeal In Memory Of Market Harborough Coffee Shop Owner Tops £100,000

A fundraising appeal launched in memory of a popular Market Harborough coffee shop owner has smashed its initial target.
The wife of Raj Aggarwal pledged to raise £100,000 in his name for the NHS, a cause which was close to his heart, and the total has now surpassed that.
Raj from Great Glen, who ran Insomnia Coffee Shop, died after contracting coronavirus during the first lockdown in 2020, aged 51.

Raj was known for his generosity in helping others and in the weeks before he fell ill, delivered free food and drink to staff at Leicester hospitals, to show his support for them during the pandemic.
He also owned Spar shops in Wigston and Sheffield and numerous fundraising events have taken place in support of the ‘Do As Raj Would Do’ campaign, with money raised split between the Leicester Children’s hospital Appeal and Sheffield Northern General Hospital.
