Police are appealing for information after a teenager died following a car crash near a Harborough village yesterday afternoon.

The man, aged 18, was a front-seat passenger in a silver Ford Fiesta, which left the road and overturned into a ditch on Willoughby Road, close to the junction with Broughton Lane, at around 3.15pm.

The man was taken to University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire with serious injuries and sadly passed away during the night.

The driver and two other passengers, all men, also aged 18, were taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary with minor injuries.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, which did not involve any other vehicles, or saw the vehicle being driven beforehand.

Also if anyone has video recording equipment installed in their vehicles and were in the area yesterday afternoon we would ask that they check the footage and contact officers if they have anything recorded which will assist with the investigation.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 4695 Louise McMahon on 101, quoting crime number 20*671630.
