Appeal After Head-On Crash On A6 Leaves Drivers Seriously Injured

Police are appealing for witnesses after two drivers were seriously injured in a head-on crash on the A6 Rothwell/Desborough bypass.
A red Citroen Xsara was involved in collision with a white VW Golf on the stretch of road between the A14 and Braybrooke Road roundabout at 4.10pm yesterday.
A woman was trapped in the wreckage of the Citroen and released by firefighters, before being taken to University Hospital Coventry by Air Ambulance, while a man driving the VW was transported to Kettering General Hospital.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Fire appliances from Rothwell and Kettering were on the scene within minutes and found that two vehicles had been involved in a collision.
“A woman was trapped inside one the vehicles and the Fire Service used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the vehicle’s roof and safely remove the woman, who was then treated by East midlands Ambulance Serivce and airlifted to Coventry Hospital.”
Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about it, including relevant dash-cam footage.
