Appeal After Election Campaign Banner Set Alight
Written by HFM News on 26th June 2024
Police are appealing for information after a Labour election campaign banner was set on fire in Market Harborough.
It had been put up on the side of a garage in Selby Close on the Southern Estate and was targeted late on Sunday or during the early hours of Monday.
Luckily the fire did not take hold, as the occupants of the adjoining house were asleep at the time.

Leicestershire Police are treating the incident as ‘criminal damage – arson’ and say enquiries are on-going.
Anyone with information is asked to contact officers, quoting reference 24000 372464.
The incident followed the theft and damage of other placards erected on the Southern Estate in recent weeks, supporting both the Labour and Conservative party candidates.
