There’s an appeal for information after a dog was dumped in a country lane in sweltering temperatures.
The RSPCA say the flea-ridden terrier-cross, described as being in an ‘awful’ condition, was lucky not to have died from heat exposure, after being left tied up in a lay-by on Thurnby Lane between Stoughton and Thurnby on Sunday.
His hair was so badly matted it has had to be shaved off, five of his teeth had to be removed because they were so rotten, and his claws were in-growing.
The dog, which is thought to be blind, is being cared for at the charity’s base in Leicester, where staff have named him Andy.
Anyone with information should call the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018.
