Appeal After Car Driven At Police Officer In Husbands Bosworth

A police officer has been threatened with a crow bar and had a car driven at her after men tried to break into a shop in Husbands Bosworth.
She was clipped by the red/maroon-coloured Renault Megane sports car in Bell Lane, having responded to calls about shutters of the High Street premises being attacked just before 1am today.
The officer was able to step out of the way but fell to ground, suffering minor injuries.
Police are appealing for information and CCTV from any homes in the area that may assist the investigation.
Detective Constable Chantel Booth said: “While the incident did happen in the middle of the night, we are still appealing to people who may have information which may assist us.
“Did you happen to be in the area at the time and see or hear anything? Do you have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the scene which could assist our enquiries? Did you see the vehicle described in the area?
“If you have any information, you should contact police.”

- A 37-year-old man from Wigston has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being questioned.
