Appeal After Arsonists Target Farmland
Written by HFM News on 18th July 2022
Police are appealing for information after two deliberately started fires on farmland over the weekend.
The first happened off Sutton Lane in Dingley between midnight and 1am on Saturday, when electrical cabling was set alight in a field – the fire spread to the fencing of sheep pens.
The second fire saw an acre of crops and hay bales destroyed in a field on Loddington Road near Harrington, when arsonists struck just before 3.30pm yesterday.
Fire crews were sent to both incidents and a spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue service said: “Deliberate fires are dangerous and not only put the public, our firefighters and wildlife at risk but also the fire-setter themselves.”
Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or alternatively, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
