Appeal After Arson Attack
Written by HFM News on 2nd December 2019
Police are appealing for witnesses after petrol was poured through the letterbox of a flat in Rothwell and outside, before being set alight.
The walls of the ground floor flat in Edinburgh Close were also doused in petrol, as well as the garden.
Luckily the blaze did not spread quickly and firefighters were able to put it out before it reached the building, with the cold weather also helping to minimise the spread of the fire.
Officers, who are are treating the incident as Arson with Intent to Endanger Life, say the occupier of the flat heard clattering coming from outside and then discovered the fire.
It happened between 8.40pm and 9.10pm last Wednesday, November 27th.
Anyone with information should call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
