Animal Food Bank Launches Urgent Appeal For Donations

Market Harborough’s animal food bank has launched an urgent appeal for donations after running out of supplies.
It means it currently can’t support dog and cat owners struggling to afford to feed their pets, or local rescue centres.
A big increase in demand over the past few weeks has seen supplies of dog and cat foods diminish, following a successful campaign to provide food for pets affected by the war in Ukraine.
The rise in the cost of living is thought to be behind more people needing help and less people donating.
Lisa Parratt runs the Dogz Dinner Animal Foodbank and spoke to Hfm:
Donations of animal food, which must be within use-by date and unopened, can be dropped off outside 93 Meadow Street in Market Harborough.
The animal food bank is also appealing to any shop or business who would be willing to act as a drop-off point for donations.
