A Market Harborough health campaigner has branded Boots’ decision to charge for prescription deliveries ‘a tax on sick people’.
The chemist, which has a branch in St Mary’s Place, is to bring in the £5for existing customers at the end of the month or make them pay a £55 annual subscription.
Phil Knowles says people who rely on the service will be hit hard:
Boots say deliveries are not funded by the NHS and free deliveries will still be available for the “most vulnerable” adding the cost was “in line with other pharmacies” that charge for the service.
