All Set For Market Harborough Carnival

Written by on 13th June 2025

Final plans are being put in place ahead of the Market Harborough Carnival tomorrow.

The big community event returns with the theme of  ‘A Summer of Love’.

The carnival day will begin at 10am, when 600 people take part in the 10km Carnival Run round town.

A parade of 20 floats will then make its way through the streets from 11.30am, before Symington’s Recreation Ground hosts loads of activities and entertainment, as it becomes the Carnival Showground during the afternoon and into the early evening.

Entry prices to the showground are £2 for children, £3 for adults or £8 for family of four.

Carnival chairman Paul Milligan spoke to HFM’s Nick Shaw about what’s in store this year:

Roads affected are: St Mary’s Road (from High Street to Kettering Road), The Square, Adam And Eve Street, Church Square, Church Street, King’s Road (from Church Street to King’s Head Place), Roman Way (from Church Square to King’s Head Place), Northampton Road (from The Square to Springfield Street), Welland Park Road (from Northampton Road to Farndon Road), Farndon Road (from Welland Park Road to Coventry Road), Coventry Road (from Farndon Road to The Square), High Street, Leicester Road (from High Street to Fairfield Road) and Burnmill Road (from Bowden Lane to Ridgeway West)
