Abseiling Stonemasons Carry Out Repairs at St Dionysius Church

Specialist stonemasons are abseiling down St Dionysius Church in Market Harborough to carry out essential repair works.

A recent inspection of the historic building found parts of the stonework on the tower were flaking and needed attention to prevent debris falling to the ground.

The repairs are being funded by the Friends of St Dionysius group, while the use of specialist contractors JP Conservation has avoided the need for costly scaffolding around the church.

The church says the work, which is due to be completed tomorrow, is not disturbing areas where peregrine falcons are known to frequent.
