A14 Crash Causes Lengthy Tailbacks

A rush-hour crash on the A14 near Welford caused major delays for drivers this morning.
Emergency services were called to the westbound carriageway just before 7.30am.

The collision between junction one and the M1/M6 junction involved a lorry, box-van and a van.
Police say no injuries were reported.
A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service told HFM: “Crews arrived at the incident involving three vehicles, with East Midlands Ambulance Service and Highways officers already in attendance.
“They found one vehicle was smoking and worked to make the vehicle safe.”
The carriageway was completely blocked for a time, which resulted in queues stretching back around eight miles.
It was fully re-opened by 9.30am.
