Market Harborough’s Andrew Stamp has won a silver medal at the Youth Olympic Games.
The 16-year-old trampolinist performed a near-perfect routine last night in the final of the men’s competition in Argentina, coming second for Team GB.
The former Welland Park Academy student was leading for a while, but was just beaten to the gold medal by the Chinese competitor.
It is the best ever achievement for Andrew, who was the only male trampolinist selected to represent the country – and one of only 42 young athletes in the squad.
Family, friends and others have been congratulating him on Social Media.
