New Great Bowden Streets To Be Named After Fallen WW1 Soldiers

Streets on a new homes development in Great Bowden are to be named after two men from the village who lost their lives in World War One.

They’ll be called Frank Burditt Drive and Isaac Martin Lane, after their relatives nominated them for the honour.

Frank died in 1917 and Isaac a year later.

Earlier this year Harborough Council asked families of those who died in the war to put forward their names for street naming purposes, as part of a way to commemorate 100 years since the end of the conflict.

The streets will be officially named once Mulberry Homes completes the building of 50 houses off Welham Lane.
