Welford Christmas Tree Farm Earns Downing Street honour

A family-run Christmas tree farm in Northamptonshire will be supplying the trees displayed inside Number 10 Downing Street this Christmas.

Welford Christmas Tree Farm, run by Will and Ella Miles, was named runner-up in the Champion Christmas Tree Grower of the Year 2026 competition, organised by the British Christmas Tree Growers Association.

The couple entered a Nordmann Fir tree grown on their farm into the competition, which attracted more than 100 entries from growers across the UK.

The annual awards recognise the skill and dedication involved in producing British-grown Christmas trees.

The farm’s trees are due to be delivered early next month, when Will and Ella are also expected to meet Prime Minister Andy Burnham.

The couple have already supplied Christmas trees for Market Harborough, including the town’s main festive tree last year and trees displayed above town centre businesses.

Ella spoke to HFM after the competition results were announced:

Russell Parkins, chair of the British Christmas Tree Growers Association, said the competition was a celebration of the expertise of British growers.

He said having the winners supply trees and a wreath for Number 10 was a chance to showcase the industry, adding that buying a real British-grown tree supports local growers and rural businesses.
