Dedicated Fundraiser Thanks Supporters After Annual Charity Walk

A dedicated Market Harborough fundraiser has thanked everyone who took part in her annual charity walk, as well as those who supported the event through sponsorship and donations.

The 10-mile walk on Sunday was organised by Carol Tilley, with money going to Jubilee Foodbank and HFM’s ongoing fundraising drive.

The fundraiser took place on Sunday

Carol has organised the annual event for nearly 50 years and has raised more than £150,000 for good causes during that time.

This year’s route started and finished at the Beerhouse, taking walkers along the Grand Union Canal from the Waterfront to Foxton before continuing to Lubenham and back towards Market Harborough.

HFM volunteer Tracy Smith was among those who took part, while Carol continued her tradition of dressing up for the walk, this year as a hot dog as a nod to the Jubilee Foodbank.

More than £1,000 had been raised before the event, with the final total expected to be announced once all outstanding donations have been collected.
