Market Harborough’s volunteer gardeners have been celebrating another success in the East Midlands In Bloom competition.

The team gathered at their base in Welland Park this morning for fizz and cake after securing the Large Town title for a fifth consecutive year.

Cheers! The Market Harborough in Bloom team celebrate the latest big win

They also received a Gold award for the 15th time, recognising the continued work of the volunteers who help keep the town looking its best.

There was also individual recognition in this year’s competition.

Steve Damon was at the celebration after receiving a Gold award, with his front garden in Rutland Walk named the best in the region.

Volunteer Peter Eddie also received a Judges’ Award in recognition of his dedication to the In Bloom team over the years.

Head gardener Barbara Tallis said it was great for the team to get together and mark the achievement:

The volunteers also told HFM what it means to have won the competition again:

The latest success follows another strong showing by the team, who have continued to work with community groups and volunteers across Market Harborough.

The In Bloom team has thanked everyone who has helped with the town’s planting, gardening and environmental projects throughout the year.
