Firms Bid For Contract To Build & Run New Leisure Centre

Council bosses are in talks with various firms over plans for a new leisure centre in Market Harborough.
They’re all bidding for the contract to build and run the facility – which would replace the aging one off Northampton Road.
£15m has been set aside by Harborough Council for Leisure Centre improvements in Market Harborough and Lutterworth.
A new centre in Harborough could go up behind the current one or at another site – potentially Airfield Farm off Leicester Road.
It hoped a final decision will be taken by the time the current Leisure contract expires next year.
A refurbishment and modernisation of the current Northampton Road site could also be considered.
