GP Practices Announce Merger Plan

Plans have been announced to merge two GP practices.

The Two Shires Medical Practice – with bases in Market Harborough and Kibworth – would join forces with Kibworth Medical Centre if the move goes ahead.

Both practices currently have surgeries in Kibworth and Fleckney – if the move goes ahead it’s proposed they could both move to a single site in each village in the future.

Doctors say the merger will increase choice for patients, provide additional services and extended hours to be treated.

A 90 day consultation with patients – which includes drop-in events at the surgeries – is getting underway before a final decision is taken by local NHS bosses.
