Shoppers have raised hygiene concerns after raw sewage was spotted outside a Market Harborough supermarket.
The discharge has been seen coming from a manhole close to the entrance of Sainsbury’s in St Mary’s Place, with people also reporting strong smells in the area.

One customer described the situation as “absolutely vile”, adding: “It really stinks. It is a health hazard and wants sorting urgently.”
Anglian Water, which is responsible for wastewater services in the town, says it is aware of the issue and is investigating the cause.
The company has not yet confirmed what is behind the problem or when it is expected to be resolved.
