New Play & Retail Venue to Create Up to Eight Jobs in Market Harborough

Up to eight jobs are set to be created with the opening of a new children’s indoor play and retail destination in Market Harborough.

Sprog will move into the final remaining commercial unit at the Wellington Place local centre on Harvest Road, alongside Sainsbury’s and Esquires Coffee, which have both opened within the past year.

The business, which combines indoor soft play with a retail area selling children’s clothing, toys and gifts, is due to launch next month.

It will be the first location for the new company, founded by husband-and-wife team Adam and Sarah Newberry.

Mr Newberry said Wellington Place “immediately felt right” because of its family-friendly setting and growing community.

He added: “We looked at several options but this unit stood out as it gave us the space to bring all three elements under one roof.”

The business has signed a six-year lease on the 1,667 square foot unit following negotiations handled by commercial property firm Wells McFarlane.

Andrew McFarlane Holt, director at Wells McFarlane, said the new venture would provide “an exciting new facility for local families” and further strengthen the growing community hub at Wellington Place.
