Playtime and Park Paths Set for Boost After Funding Green Light

Improvements to two parks will take place after Harborough District Council approved funding of nearly £100,000.

The money will be used to install accessible play equipment at Bellfields Recreation Ground in Little Bowden and upgrade paths at Rookery Park in Kibworth.

The funding from Harborough District Council comes from Section 106 contributions, which are provided by developers for community infrastructure in areas where development has taken place.

Councillor Simon Whelband, Leader of the council said: “These grants will make a real difference to communities across the district.

“Residents told us they wanted improved and more accessible play equipment, and we are pleased to be delivering on that feedback while also supporting improvements to valuable community spaces.”
